Find out about the PICU’s daily routines, teams, and how to support your child’s needs while in the PICU
While your child is in PICU, there are things that you can do to help your child during their hospital visit as well as their ongoing recovery after hospital. The problems that children may face after PICU, which can be minimized and prevented while in PICU, are referred to as “PICS-p” (post intensive care syndrome in paediatrics). What this means is that there are multiple domains of wellbeing after hospital, some visible and some visible, which affect the child’s overall recovery. You can read more on PICS-p here.
